A gorgeous sunny Bank holiday weekend was enjoyed by all, as Oakley sunglasses were as popular as ever at an action-packed Carfest.
The show was a combination of all things 4 wheeled, plus great bands, delicious food, fun kids entertainment and fabulous retail shopping.
Motoring action included the Hill Climb Track Show, Car Club displays, Vintage Car Village, and the ever-popular Sporting Bears Dream Rides. The sporting Bears work tirelessly to give every CarFest visitor the chance to ride in the most exclusive cars and every penny made goes to charity. You could choose your favourite ride from the Ferrari California 30, the Lola T70 Spyder or the Jaguar X J220. Every ride with the ‘Bears’, as they’re affectionately known, raised money for Children In Need, where last year they raised a whopping £120,000 for the charity.
Visitors could “Go retro” in the Vintage Village which featured car clubs to take carfesters back in time. They could journey through the 30s to the 70s with authentic market traders, visit the beauty salon for a vintage up-do, enjoy an afternoon tea or even learn to swing dance.
The Car Club displays were a centre piece to the Vintage Village. Strolling around you could find the streets lined with perfectly presented cars appropriate to each ear, from meticulously prepared Morgan’s to pristine Porsches.
Whilst visiting CarFest visitors could be entertained by the wonderful musicians on the two music stages. Musicians performing over the weekend included Kaiser Chiefs, Olly Murs, Manic Street Preachers, Rick Astley and Texas.
This year launched the first ever CarFest Car-nival Parade, including dancers, steel drums, marching bands and street entertainers. A huge celebration of all things CarFest!
We at Sunnies had a brilliant time chatting to driving enthusiasts and families alike. The Oakley sunglasses range was popular, especially the new Oakley Crossrange XL with Prizm tungsten polarised lenses giving the best clarity of vision for driving. Also appealing to many motorists was the iconic metal framed Oakley Conductor 8 with its wrapped design giving a great peripheral field of view.
We were delighted to have been a part of such a well organised and supported show which was raising an enormous amount of money for such a great charity. CarFest has raised £7.4 million so far for BBC Children in Need….amazing!
