The final event of the year for Sunnies was a great hit as Oakley sunglasses go down a storm among the thousands that attend The Yacht Market Southampton Boat Show.
The UK’s largest purpose-built boat show, running from 15-24 September, saw 106,000 visitors and was like no other with an exceptional line up of the latest innovations and interactive attractions. The show was home to some of the world’s most prestigious exhibitors and brands, hosting global, European and UK launches of yachts, motor and day boats.
Not only was there over 500 stalls to visit but entertainment was also a massive hit at the Boat Show with two stages hosting some top quality tribute bands including So Sinatra and Might be Buble.
Many celebrities also joined in the fun including show opener, Millie Mackintosh, Samia Longchambon, Amber Davies, Kym Marsh, Colin Jackson CBE, Ben Haenow, Mike Golding OBE , Helena Lucas MBE, Suzi Perry and Alex Thompson.
Murray Ellis, Chief Officer of Boat Shows, British Marine commented on the success of the show: “This year’s Show has been a resounding success with an exuberant atmosphere across the 10 days. From our beautiful Tall Ship, Kaskelot, and the Show’s free dinghy sailing and Stand Up Paddleboarding sessions to our brand new Paddle River experience, the attractions have proved very popular with visitors. I’m delighted that the Show has offered a platform for thousands of visitors to get out on the water, many for the first time.”
With many visitors after the latest technology in eyewear to protect from glare when out at sea, Oakleys polarised prizm lens proved to be the perfect fit for boat lovers. The wrapped nature of Oakley sunglasses also matched these needs as the unobtanium grips on both temples provided a secure fit when riding the waves.
As summer has now come to an end this was our final event of 2018 so keep posted for updates on our plans for the 2018 event season!
